Home Sweet Home

After the fifteen-hour drive from Manila to my home in Cagayan, here i am, sitting in my bed while the room seems to still spin. I’ve spent a night and a morning in a bus, what can i expect anyway.
It was three pm when my uncle drove us to the bus terminal from Angono to Quezon. It was a three-hour drive and along the way, i saw the tall buildings in makati and the very heavy traffic. In the bus, i spilled chaos to the passenger behind us–my brother beside me crushed the pineapple juice in the plastic cup i placed in his seat and spilled the juice in their bags. Everyone was mad at me. The bus also had a power failure thirty minutes after and we had to transfer to another bus. After that, things were peaceful and i fell asleep. In the morning, i just woke up seeing overcast, gray skies in the roads of Ilocos. There are the seas and mountains along the highway already because we are on the edge of the Philippines (as how my cousins joke on it) and we are on the zigzagged highways. Soon we are on the greener roads of cagayan where luscious trees grow on the edge of the narrow highway. A glance sideways past the trees reveals the vast fields stretching for miles then valleys and again, the overcast skies. Along the highway was our house, which looks likes a small bungalow beside a church lost in the middle of the woods and mist. My eyes also had to adjust because of the shade of green everywhere.in two weeks many things changed. Our small puppy grew large ears and the house looked almost abandoned and smells like moulds. The floors need polishing. Anyway, what is to expect of a 44-year old alone for two weeks? Here’s more–the doorknob in the cr is broken and my ceiling has a ripped portion. A vampire came for a visit? Lol. My brother was also trapped in the cr lately because of the knobless door.
This is my home sweet home. A small house with two rooms, overcrowded with furniture, and that silent highway where one or two vehicles pass at a time.

Poor Katrina Halili :(

My sympathy goes for her. Excluding the druggie thing, Katrina is not the evil one. She loved, she gave her body and soul to a man she knew who would be worthy, but all of her love and passion were trashed to a camera. Hayden was the fool and pervert who should be doomed to jail because he seduced the girl and innocently placed a cam on her.

But the one who mostly deserve to be thrown to the pits of hell is the one who uploaded it to the net. And those who also spread the video only made it worse. The blame is on both the show makers and party watchers. And i haven’t seen or downloaded the vid :p

To my fair opinion, Katrina is the victim. She was the one who was played like a puzzle piece and the only thing she did is love. Sigh. Now we got another proof that love makes the world a little bit more miserable.

Also about the druggie thing, they just released it to make the crimes between Katrina and Hayden become even. My mom’s bet to be the initial video releaser is Vicky. According to her, Vicky should have not said something like, “and so, the lesson for her to learn is to stop being a boyfriend stealer.” what do you think?

HipHop in the Philippines

Everybody’s a huge fan of hiphop and i can’t blame anyone. Hiphop has the energy and the beat. It’s a big thing on the west, and i can say that Phils, having such the colonial mentality, adopted the whole genre in the 2000′s. The early rap songs at the time were democratic and patriotic and are written in Tagalog. The Master Rapper that time was the late Francis Magalona.
So that’s still being original and creative, despite the foreign genre. But nowadays, around 2007, there was a spin. The lyrics became no less than sexual prowess and the once patriotic became thug-loving. Stage names like usual American rappers came (but ours is more cornball) and videos about it are now shooted on clubs, like the usual hiphop. Rappers before wore three stars and one sun but now wore loose shirts and pants pulled halfway down. Lately I thought westerners were the ones rapping in the local music channel i watched minutes ago. But when they mentioned “like here in P.I.” okay, i’m wrong. But how shocking. We are Asians with a different culture and we are raised to have a discreet attitude that restricts us from writing and broadcasting songs that have lyrics talking about blowjobs and sex in the floor. Is that really for flavor only? Please, your songs are too fast for rnb and too slow to be compared to T.I. and Eminen. I prefer the teen bands arising nowadays (not to mention their videos) compared to the hiphop icon wannabes. At least their music is “friendly”.
